![]() A much better DLC would be the ending of DS3 from Ellie's perspective. Ending a series in a DLC is just awful.Basically there are numerous ways to write the ending without this obvious plot flaw. Or the ship could crash in the chaos and the DLC could start there. They can still play some version of the Awakened DLC after this as they just as easily could be contacted by the moons in the process of leaving. After they turn the machine on, Ellie rescues them in a ship, just like in DS2. Isaac and Carver kill the mini boss and move on to fight the moon. Danik retrieves it and shuts the machine off, then dies like in the game. When they get to the top of the machine they are waylaid by a necromorph mini boss. For example, Ellie somehow survives, but Isaac doesn't know. Better Ending: The writers easily could've come up with something different. The idea that he would suddenly change his mind and try to exchange the mission's success to save one person is a character violation, not to mention idiotic. Carver screws over humanity by throwing the codex to Danik, just to save Isaac's girlfriend?Earlier in the game he had be willing to leave people behind, even to the point of sacrificing Santos, just to save the mission.I won't go into too much detail but I can think of at least two major areas within the storyline where the writers went the wrong direction and messed up badly. However, from a story telling/ DS universe lore perspective, the writing is bad. Hi, I know it's a worn out subject, but I only recently completed the series so I want to share some thoughts.įrom a pure fun perspective, DS3 and Awakened pass the test.
